Cantonese opera @ 7th lunar month
For more than 20 years, I have not been able watch the Cantonese opera during the 7th month festival as they are not easily find in Penang like 2 decades ago. Finally, this year, I read about an article on the Cantonese opera which now believed to be the only one in Penang during this festival, and found out its venue. In fact, I am quite lucky to be there as it is their last night of performance. According to the article, this troupe which is from Kuala Lumpur, has been performing since WW2 and now most of the artists are into their 60s and 70s. Hope I will be able to catch more of the Cantonese opera next year.
As the main intention of the opera is for its 'visible audience' during the ghost festival, there are a few rows of empty 'VIP' seats in front of the stage which are reserved for the 'good brothers and sisters'

Annual dinner @ Hydro Hotel
By the way, as half expected, she won the best dressed this year after spending much $ and time to dressed up for the event.
Can't wait for the party to begin, started to dance to the songs by the live band.

07.07. World Heritage Site Day
Tomorrow will be the "World Heritage Site declaration" day and it is now a public holiday in Penang since last year. Some pieces from the students of Equator Art Academy.
Food Gallery @ Times Squre
Love to stop by at the Food Gallery everytime we went for groceries shopping at Times Sq. I didn't expect the food arcade quite a success due to its quiet surrounding. The place is clean and comfortable and pricing is reasonable. The place is very packed the first time I came here for dinner ! My favourite stall happens to be "Mr. Soup" and its mushroom soup is as good as LJ's Corner / Meezi and the price is much cheaper with larger portion. Tomato soup is not bad and will try out the roasted pumpkin soup some day soon. The rice/noodle stall's roast pork is not bad. The stall also offers wantan and 'sui-kow' dumplings. The wantan is not bad ; as good as my ex-favourite wantan noodle stall which is now at Carnavon Street.
Anyway spoilt for too many choices here; be it Chinese food, Taiwanese, Siamese, Japanese, Korean, Western, Indonesian and local food !
