From The Revolving Restaurant @City Bayview Hotel

Front view of E&O Hotel from City Bayview's car park.

View of E&O from The Revolving.

Round and round it goes...making all my photos blurr....

Getting ready to break fast at 7.35pm.

Food spread is only very so so ..well...not to my surprise at this pricing.

Looks like a perfect place for a romantic dinner...but not during this festive season, ie. Ramadhan fasting month.

Doing some favourite oldies......

Cantonese opera @ 7th lunar month

For more than 20 years, I have not been able watch the Cantonese opera during the 7th month festival as they are not easily find in Penang like 2 decades ago.   Finally, this year, I read about an article on the Cantonese opera which now believed to be the only one in Penang during this festival, and found out its venue.  In fact, I am quite lucky to be there as it is their last night of performance.  According to the article, this troupe which is from Kuala Lumpur, has been performing since WW2 and now most of the artists are into their 60s and 70s.  Hope I will be able to catch more of the Cantonese opera next year.
As the main intention of the opera is for its 'visible audience' during the ghost festival, there are a few rows of empty 'VIP' seats in front of the stage which are reserved for the 'good brothers and sisters'

Annual dinner @ Hydro Hotel

For me, this is the first time that I ever heard of an annual dinner held in the middle of year !! Normally, for me it should be at year end or beginning of the year. Anyway everyone dressed up accordingly to the theme of the night (except myself)
By the way, as half expected, she won the best dressed this year after spending much $ and time to dressed up for the event.

Perfomance time!  Sexy belly dancers ...

Hydro 4 seasons appetiser platter.  The prawns were fresh.

Is this really Shark fin soup with crabmeat and dried scallop as stated in the menu ??  The colour of the soup is totally different from the usual shark fin soup!  Only got some white and black fungus and mushroom stripes.  Can't even see any crabmeat nor scallop stripes.  If not for the menu, I supposed this Sweet and sour  spicy Shanghai soup !  Very sour!

Deep fried marinated boneless chicken with mango sauce.

Wok fried prawn with salted egg and curry leaves.  Can only find curry leaves but didn't even realised that there were salted egg if I had not read the menu again.

Can't wait for the party to begin, started to dance to the songs by the live band.

Rubber food

Fussy M's order of flour vermicelli with oyster was best of all three dishes.  The oyster is fresh.

The worst dish and great disappointment was mine order of German sausage !  I realised that that were some pieces of rubber bank in the sausage!! Wonder how much rubber bands I have eaten!!  Yucks!!!!! Felt like some rubber at my throat the whole afternoon.  Never to patronise this stall anymore!

Pumpkin soup with baked almond. Didn't see any almond but got some 'kacang'.  I just praised the Mr Soup's stall too soon in my previous blog ; the soup bowl has shrunk in size!!  Not worth the money anymore for RM6.20!!  Since "Mr. Soup" has merged with its neighouring stall and handled by its' neighour, bowl size has shrunk and the butter has also 'disappeared'.  The pumpkin soup was very sweet.  Wonder how is the mushroom soup taste like after the 'take-over'?  I will only give i t a try if I can confirm the portion first, or else not worth anymore!

Food Gallery @ Times Squre

Fussy M trying out the wantan  noodle with "char siu"

Love to stop by at the Food Gallery everytime we went for groceries shopping at Times Sq.  I didn't expect the food arcade quite a success due to its quiet surrounding.  The place is clean and comfortable and pricing is reasonable.  The place is very packed the first time I came here for dinner !  My favourite stall happens to be "Mr. Soup" and its mushroom soup is as good as LJ's Corner / Meezi and the price is much cheaper with larger portion.  Tomato soup is not bad and will try out the roasted pumpkin soup some day soon.  The rice/noodle stall's roast pork is not bad.  The stall also offers wantan and 'sui-kow' dumplings.   The wantan is not bad ; as good as my ex-favourite wantan noodle stall which is now at Carnavon Street.
Anyway spoilt for too many choices here; be it Chinese food, Taiwanese, Siamese, Japanese, Korean, Western, Indonesian and local food !
