In conjunction of UNESCO world heritage- Georgetown Festival 2010

07July was declared as a holiday in Penang to celebrate this event. Lots of activities were carried out for this celebration.

The Last Chairs by Leon Lim

This sulpture is at the
 junction of Union Street.

* Just found out that this sculpture was named 'The Last Chairs'.  According to its creator, Leon Lim, an artist who has returned from New York after his 11 years art journey, the larger work consisting of chairs of various makes, sizes and age is supposed to represent the historical value of generations that had passed while the smaller box consisting a single chair is meant to represent the generation that is coming up.

On the way to capture a picture of the 'chairs',  I saw this antique wooden door which bears such a wonderful craftsmanship.
