CNY-9th day Jade Emperor's Birthday

The celebration started around 11pm of the 8th day to usher in the 9th day in wee hours of the morning.  First time having this joint prayers in this neighbourhood. The lion dance was delayed and made simplified due to heavy rain around 9 to 10.30 pm.  The celebration really started around 12 midnight when the rain finally stopped.

Herbal duck soup mee suah @ Rifle Range Rd Junction

This place is always crowded in the morning although on a working day.  So curiousity kills...the greedy pig..or rather dog?  Stopped by after 9am the first time and the soup was sold out.  But the stall serves a different menu for 2nd round  which is nasi lemak for that day.  Managed to taste the herbal duck meat soup during my 2nd attempt.  Price is Rm5.00 onwards.  Herbal soup base is the same but there is choice to choose either duck meat or  drumstick or chicken or pork and use either mee suah or bee hoon (rice vermicelli).  The soup smells good but I think it go better with rice.  Ha..Ha...me being a rice bin. The stall operator told me that they starts seaming the soup since 5 am for at least 2 hours.  Not very impressive as I order duck meat instead of drumstick thinking that it would be sliced or shreded meat but it seemed like the whole thing just dump into the bowl.  (I thought it would be something like the duck meat koay teow soup style).  This stall has a lot of followers every morning without fail.  The place is closed on Wednesday.
Heard that this stall originally operated at Race Course Garden area but the lease ended and so they moved to this place early this year.
