Cheated !

My experience at Kafe Kheng Pin (situated at the right junction of Sri Bahari road) was terrible. The Char Koay Teow was only so..so ; you can get it anywhere but the seller is charging me a 4 star rate. Plain without egg @ RM3.50 and according to M's comment, the prawns, fish cake and the cockles were all not so fresh. Not worth the price; I can simply get one taste even better at Sin Nam Hong in Komtar at reasonable price of RM2.60 to RM3.00. Even, the famous Char Koay Teow opposite the Pulau Tikus police sttaion is only charging at RM3.00.

As for my order of the century egg porridge, the seller slyly asked me whether I wanted fish or chicken meat and the price ?? RM3.50 too! But the price list at his stall showed that 3 in 1 is at RM3.50! If he wanted to charge me that price, why the heck he asked me which one I preferred? Just add both in and charged me! However, his attitude was okay. The Char Koay Teow seller was behaving like I owed her some money! The coffee shop staff wasn't any better. The price of one glass of hot tasteless barley @ RM1.00. Come on! I can get one cup of hot black coffee at the Batu Lanchang coffee shop (the one nearest to Lam Wah Ee hospital) at only RM0.80.

Khee Cheang Leong coffee shop at Kimberley Street is only selling a cup of hot plain almond at RM1.20 and M had given it some high rating! The shop also housed my favourite duck meat koay teow soup which sell at a very reasonable alias cheap price, ie., RM2.20.

Just because this Kafe Kheng Pin has a so called famous lok bak stall there, they think they can simply charge all the dumb consumers. Anyway, the lok bak is only average, dried and hard like most of the lok bak I have tasted but my friend told me that the seller has been invited by some Singaporean hotels to make the 'famed' lok bak over there yearly.

Speaking of lok bak, I found one that tasted good and at reasonable price (not cheap but reasonable) at Ho Ping coffee shop along Penang Road thanks to Kwong Wah Yit Poh newspaper's recommendation! The seller is very customer-oriented too !

Lastly, I will make this my last time to patronise Kheng Pin ! The previous time I were there, the wan thun noodles were cold and I really wondered why ? So there is really nothing that tempted me to go there anymore !

Esplanade

'Dragged' myself to Esplanade last evening despite it might rained. Something I have postponed many times, must make it an effort to go there more often to relax and enjoy the view.
